Items of interest:

The boiler is about 40 years old but going strong.  Unlike modern boilers the boiler does NOT rely on electricity.  Although Center Square rarely has an electrical outage, due in part to it being so close to the capital, if there is an outage the heat stays on.

The room was originally used to store coal. 

There is a door that slides up between the utility room and the hallway.  Originally, we thought it might have been for a dumb waiter, but it was probably for access to the coal.
